Apple Financial Services Financial Aid for Canadian Students (FACS) provides Urban Academy a need-based financial aid analysis service which ensures that our process for establishing financial need adheres to nationally established standards of best practice. All information from FACS is kept confidential, as is all information pertaining to a family’s financial aid request. While completing the online application, you will be required to include your tax returns with all schedules and T4’s and any available tax slips. Financial aid notifications for returning students will be sent out in February. Our goal is to have an award determination made by the time re-enrolment letters of intent are required on the last day of February. Because financial aid funds are limited and demand is high, late filing of materials may result in non-renewal of tuition assistance.

Urban Academy Entrance Scholarship (Grades 9–12) (Academic)
Eligibility Details:
Students from Gr. 9 to 12 are eligible.
Urban Academy is proud to be able to offer a limited number of fully funded Grade 9-12 Entrance Scholarships for students and families seeking an enriched educational opportunity. The Urban Academy Entrance Scholarship offers students the chance to experience an exceptional education which aligns with our mission to connect through learning, inspire through community, and empower students to contribute meaningfully to society.
Urban Academy Entrance Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship where students will receive a spot for the 2025/2026 school year, with the opportunity to extend their scholarship up to their graduation.
Urban Academy is seeking Grade 9–12 students who:
- Are Dedicated Learners: You’ve consistently demonstrated strong academic performance and are committed to excelling in your studies
- Shine Outside the Classroom: Whether it’s in sports, performing arts, the outdoors, technology, leadership, volunteerism, or other extracurricular activities, you’re actively involved and passionate about your interests.
- Embody UA Values: You align with our core values of Future-Focused Education, Belonging, Entrepreneurial Spirit, and Changemaking.
The entrance scholarship is not available for those who are considered an International Student by the B.C. Ministry of Education and Child Care.
Successful candidates will have their tuition costs for the year fully covered by the Grade 9-12 Entrance Scholarship.
Scholarship applicants will undergo a similar application process to typical applicants, but with additional supporting documents. The application will include:
- The online application
- Copy of last two years of report cards
- Urban Academy Admissions will provide applicant families with a reference sheet to send to current teachers once the student attends their assessment.
- Scholarship Application Supporting Documents (details below)
Scholarship applicants will be required to add the following supporting documents to their applications including:
- Final Report Cards: for the two previous years
- Student CV: or resume (1 page max)
- Recommendation letter: in support of an applicant’s scholarship application from a teacher, coach, employer etc.
- Student Essay: Applicants are required to submit an essay with their application. In this essay, students will select one or two of the Urban Academy values and write how that value, or those values are evident in your life. (350-500 words max)
- Parent statement of interest: Parents, please submit a statement of interest of why you are pursuing an Entrance Scholarship at Urban Academy for your child. (300-500 words max)

- Set up a profile through MySchool, our student management system. Please begin by clicking ‘Begin Application’ below and select the Entrance Scholarship Application.
- Complete the application and ensure all supporting documents have been included.
Once your application package is complete, the Admissions Team will be in touch with you to give you details regarding next steps.
