Prepare for the Camp Expo

Leading up to the Camp Expo, we're excited to bring you a series of events to help you prepare, plan and make sure you're ready to find the best camp!

Kids can benefit from summer camp in so many ways-whether they're at a preschool camp for their first experience, a specialty camp learning a specific skill, or an overnight camp gaining independence, camp can provide children with experiences they can't get anywhere else. The Our Kids Camp Expo is an opportunity for your family to meet a variety of camps, talk to them, and find out which is right for them.

Make the most of your time at the Camp Expo!

  • Before you come to the Expo, visit the Exhibiting Camps page to explore your options and make a list of camps you want to talk to.
  • Talk to your kids about what kind of camp they might be interested in attending.
  • Think of some questions for the camp representatives. A good place to start is:
    • What is the Camp's philosophy or vision?
    • What is the director's background?
    • What training do counselors receive and are they certified in specialty areas?
    • What is the camp environment ? is it welcoming, maintained and secure?
    • Ask about the facilities and equipment
    • What programming and activities are available?
    • What is the camper-to-counselor ratio?
    • Are the programs age-appropriate for your child?
    • What is the medical staff on site and the camp's policies on medication and emergency situations
    • What fees are included and what is extra?
    • What is the camp life like?

Narrow down your camp options and plan your day. Search exhibiting and non-exhibiting camps using the advanced search to find those that meet your needs.
