(5) Overall Experience
My family and I moved to Toronto during Grade 12, and it was one of the biggest changes in my life. The decision was very sudden, and I wasn't able to complete some of my high school courses in Taiwan. I was missing several credits to apply to university, and I was really worried about falling behind. Thankfully, I found Canada Nord Academy, and it made the transition much easier than I expected. What I appreciated most about CNA was the flexibility. I was able to begin my classes while I was still in Taiwan and continue them seamlessly after I arrived in Toronto. Since everything was online and self-paced, I could study around my move and settle into my new life without feeling overwhelmed and lost.
Looking Back
The school was flexible and supportive during one of the biggest transitions in my life. CNA allowed me to continue my courses seamlessly before and after my move. I remember in particular how patient and helpful the teachers were when I was adjusting to Ontario's education system. The interactive online lessons kept me engaged, and the admissions process was incredibly fast and stress-free.
Current Perspective
I realize how much the teachers and staff contributed to my success. They weren't just helping me complete courses; they were helping me adapt to a completely new education system and keeping me on track for university. I can think of a challenge in which online learning requires self-discipline, but CNA provides plenty of teacher support and resources for students who are willing to ask for help.
Your Advice
The flexibility of the courses really stands out, but don't treat it as an excuse to procrastinate. The self-paced courses give you the freedom to learn on your own schedule, but staying organized is important. Don't hesitate to reach out to your teachers whenever you have questions. They're very approachable and genuinely want to help you succeed. I wish someone had told me before I enrolled that online learning at CNA is much more interactive than I expected. It isn't just watching videos; it's also about actively participating throughout the lessons, which makes learning more engaging and effective.
(5) School Leadership
The admissions and administrative team were incredibly efficient and supportive throughout the whole process. Because my situation was time-sensitive, I was worried about missing university application deadlines. The entire admission process was surprisingly fast and straightforward. They answered my questions quickly, guided me through every step, and made the transition completely stress-free.
(5) Teaching
As someone new to the Ontario education system, I found everything very different from what I was used to. My teachers were patient, encouraging, and always willing to help. Whenever I didn't understand an assignment or had questions about course expectations, they would respond promptly and make sure I was on the right track. Their support helped me gain confidence in a completely new learning environment.
(5) Academics
The courses were well organized and engaging. I especially enjoyed the interactive learning platform; there were different activities, quizzes, and checkpoints throughout each lesson instead of simply reading through pages of course materials. It really helped me, kept me involved in the learning process, and made studying much more interesting. The courses were challenging enough to prepare me for university while still allowing me to learn at my own pace.
(4.5) School Life
During my time studying at Canada Nord Academy, I never felt like I was learning alone. The flexibility of being able to study anytime and anywhere was exactly what I needed during such a major life transition. Being able to continue my education without interruption while moving between Taiwan and Canada was something I couldn't have done in a traditional school.
(5) Admissions
The admissions process was one of the highlights of my experience. Everything was completed quickly and efficiently, so I was able to start my courses almost immediately. From my initial inquiry to enrollment, the process was smooth, professional, and well organized, which gave me peace of mind during a stressful time.
(4.5) University placement and counselling
The counsellors helped me understand Ontario university requirements, application deadlines, and course prerequisites, which made the process much less stressful, especially when I felt like I was behind with the application. They were always available to answer my questions and provided personalized guidance whenever I needed it. I felt I received the right support early enough to apply confidently to my preferred universities.
