(5) Student Experience
Our daughter loves Hopscotch Montessori. From the moment we walked into the school, she was at home and so happy there. Every morning when we drop her off, she just runs off into the school so excited. She loves all her teachers, the other students and the environment of the campus. I think she also likes that from when she started at the school at 14 months, she has always been treated like an independent little person, versus a "baby." Whether that's how the teachers encourage her to do things for herself (put on her shoes or cut fruit) or just the general respect they have for her. She loves all the songs they sing and story time. She also loves the covered playground.
Why Hopscotch Montessori School?
We weren't sure we were going to send our daughter to school/or a daycare at 14 months, but someone recommended Hopscotch to us, and we decided to check out the Baby and Me class. The moment we got to the class, my daughter ran off and hugged one of the other kids, ran back and hugged me and was so happy in the environment. When she didn't want to leave, we knew we would be holding her back by not signing her up.
Expectations vs. Reality
Hopscotch went above and beyond my expectations. We knew we were signing her up for very small class sizes and a very warm atmosphere every day, but the teachers really go above and beyond with how much detail they give to each kid. They really do care deeply about each child.
Your Advice
I would say check out their Baby and Me class, and no matter what age you send your child off to school, it will be hard to let them go.
(5) School Leadership
The school head is very responsive and addressed any of our concerns in a timely fashion. They create a positive school environment and communicate effectively.
(5) Teaching
Yes, we are happy with the teaching at Hopscotch Montessori. The teachers are passionate and provide lots of feedback. The parent-teacher conference happens twice a year, and her teacher provided lots of insights. The parents also got to observe her class one morning.
(5) Academics
(5) Extracurriculars
For a toddler program, I think they offer lots of extracurricular opportunities, like when they had the animals come to the school etc. Yes, I believe the school is providing the right context to develop well-rounded students.
(5) Students
The class size is very small, which is one of the reasons we chose the school. There are only 3 other kids in her class, and there are two full-time teachers for her class.
(5) School Life
Our daughter loves going to Hopscotch Montessori School every morning. She runs off so excited to see the teachers and her classmates, some days she doesn't want to leave.
