What sets La Villa apart is an authentic AMI Montessori program delivered as a full journey, from the Young Children’s Community through Grade 6, inside a small community school.
Guides with AMI diplomas prepare a complete environment and give individual presentations, rather than teaching the same lesson to the whole class. Children work in mixed-age communities, so they learn from older peers, lead younger ones, and are not reset each September. In elementary, Cosmic Education connects history, geography, language, mathematics, science, and the arts, so children see how knowledge fits together and encourages them to look beyond the classroom.
Guides know each child closely, through time, observation, and relationship building and community life is part of the curriculum. The outcome is a child who can think for themselves, concentrate, work independently, care for others, and carry a real love of learning into the next stage of school and life.

We advise against La Villa if you want a conventional classroom, a short-term placement, or a wide menu of competitive programs.
There are no whole-class lessons, worksheet packets, letter grades, or ranking of children. Progress is observed and discussed, not scored and sent home. The program is built in three and six -year cycles, for the Casa and Elementary respectively so spaces are planned first for children moving up within the school from our Young Children's Community (toddler). Families seeking short term care rather than a long term commitment, will not benefit from our program.
The program is not for both very strict and very permissive expectations. The child chooses meaningful work, but inside clear limits set by the guide. We are a small community school: the tradeoff for that closeness is fewer teams, specialists, and add-on programs.
The right family wants an authentic AMI education, trusts the child’s timeline, and is prepared to stay for the full cycle.

They are looking for AMI-trained guides, a complete prepared environment, and a child who is observed and given individual lessons rather than taught as part of a whole-class rotation. They want the program to continue from the Young Children’s Community through elementary, so the child is not reset at the next birthday. They notice the independence, the mixed-age community, and the fact that each child is known.
They are not choosing us for a long list of add-on classes or for a large campus. They are choosing a small school whose goal is to meet the intrinsic needs of each child, and a partnership with parents that helps them understand the work.
People who know of La Villa usually describe it as an authentic Montessori school, where the children are known and supported.
It is not the biggest campus in Oakville, and not a preschool with just Montessori materials on the shelves. Families who have heard of us tend to mention AMI, the prepared environment, and a school that follows the child. They also mention the feel of the place. It is a community school, closer to a village than an institution.
The practical things come up just as often. Parents talk about the beautiful playground, the gymnasium, and about being able to reach the guides and the administration and get a straight answer. Safety is part of that reputation. Families expect the children to be supervised, the environment to be cared for, and any concern to be heard.
Parents who have visited often put it more simply. The children are concentrating, engaged and happy. The guides are properly trained in the method.
What families see, and often underestimate, is the multi-year communities.
On a tour it can look like a practical arrangement: younger children and older children in the same room, working quietly, with the guide moving from one to another. It is easy to notice the materials and miss the design. The younger child is learning how to be in the room by watching someone who has already been there. The older child is practising leadership by helping, explaining, and taking responsibility. The guide knows the child across years, not across a single term.
That is why we ask families to stay for the cycle. A child who leaves after a year has had an introduction. A child who remains has had time to concentrate, to be the youngest and then the oldest, and to finish work that cannot be rushed. The room looks calm because that work is protected. The significance is easy to walk past, and it is the centre of the program.
