Laureate College ADMISSIONS

Private schools in Canada have admissions policies, and they require application materials. These may include letters of application, application fees, essays, and tests (such as the SSAT). Many schools also require interviews with prospective students. Schools also use different criteria for evaluating student applications, have different acceptance rates, and target different kinds of students. To improve your child’s chances of acceptance, find out everything you can about a school’s admissions policies and how they assess applicants.

Around Canada in 80 minutes - Indigenous Culture in Canada

We are excited to extend a field trip invitation to grades 6,7 and 8 students to participate in an innovative and inspiring high school presentation on Indigenous culture, history, and engagement.

At Laureate College, we are committed to promoting diversity, inclusion, and cultural understanding among our student body. As part of this commitment, we are launching a special project to explore and celebrate the rich heritage of Indigenous peoples across Canada.

Stations will be set up around our campus. Each station will be focused on one of the six Indigenous cultural regions across Canada. Our students will offer six interactive and informative displays for your students to enjoy and learn from. We will offer students a unique opportunity to:

  • Engage in hands-on learning experiences that explore Indigenous history, traditions, and contemporary issues.
  • Create meaningful projects and initiatives that raise awareness and promote Indigenous culture and reconciliation within our school and beyond.
  • Participate in immersive cultural activities and events that deepen understanding of Indigenous perspectives and contributions.

We believe participation in this project will enrich educational experiences by enhancing any existing Indigenous-based curriculum you offer and foster empathy, respect, and appreciation for Indigenous cultures and peoples.

If you are interested in being part of this transformative journey, please join us at Laureate College, 1921 Snake Road, Burlington, ON, on May 9th, 2024.  The program will run from 9:30 am until 11:30 am and take 1.5-2 hours to complete, including refreshments and a campus tour. Please register your school group online. Spaces are limited to 60 students.

We look forward to welcoming you to this exciting initiative and working together to create a more inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment.
