Dear families,

Choosing a school is one of the most significant decisions a family can make. It is a choice that defines not just a child’s academic path but also their character, worldview, and future place in a rapidly changing global society.

At Lycée international de Calgary, we offer an educational experience that is unique in Alberta. As the city’s long-standing international French school and a proud member of the CAIS community, we provide a dual-curriculum excellence that combines the rigor of the French Ministry of Education, the high standards of the country’s top schools, and the local context of the Alberta curriculum.

Excellence through Bilingualism

Since 1966 when we were founded as Lycée Louis Pasteur, we have been a cornerstone of Calgary’s educational landscape. Our mission is clear: to foster a challenging, transformative bilingual education in a multicultural environment. Our students do not just learn French; they live it, think in it, and use it as a bridge to connect with others across nearly 40 different nationalities represented within our walls.

Our IMPACT Values

Our school is currently embarked on an ambitious journey guided by our IMPACT 2030 strategic plan. This roadmap is centered on six core values that define every interaction on our campus: Inquiry, Multiculturalism, Perseverance, Authenticity, Community, and Transformation. We are committed to cultivating citizens who shape the future, ensuring every student graduates as a bilingual global citizen, prepared for university studies here and around the world.

A Community of Belonging

Beyond our academic results and the prestigious French Baccalauréat, what truly sets the Lycée apart is our community. We are a “human-scale” school where every child is known, valued, and encouraged to find their unique voice. Whether a student joins us in Maternelle with no prior French experience or enters in elementary, junior high or in our international program, they find a supportive environment that feels like home.

Your Invitation

As you explore our website and learn about our programs, I invite you to look beyond the curriculum to the vibrant, multicultural life of our school. I encourage you to visit our school in Altadore to see our classrooms in action, hear the blend of languages in our hallways, and feel the energy of a community dedicated to excellence.

We look forward to welcoming your family to ours and to partnering with you as we cultivate the next generation of engaged citizens.

 Warmly,
