MESSAGE FROM THE LEADERSHIP
We invited Sunil Mattu, Head of Schools at LYNX, to share a message.
The overview highlights the vision, values, and guiding principles that shape leadership and the student experience at LYNX.
Sunil Mattu, Head of Schools
Welcome to LYNX.
At LYNX, we believe that education should recognize the individuality of every child. Students learn, develop, and grow in different ways, and families deserve meaningful choices in determining the environment that will help their child thrive.
Our Nature Inspired Education model combines purposeful academic learning with active, hands-on experiences in the outdoors. Students build strong foundational skills while developing curiosity, confidence, independence, resilience, and a deeper connection to the world around them. Nature is not simply a setting for occasional activities; it is an important part of how learning comes alive.
Families can choose from flexible educational pathways, including teacher-directed online learning and parent-directed home education, complemented by regular outdoor classroom experiences. This allows students to benefit from structure, personalized support, and a strong learning community while following a program that reflects their needs and circumstances.
As part of the Third Schools community, LYNX is supported by decades of experience in personalized and specialized education. Since joining the organization’s founding staff in 1997, I have seen firsthand what becomes possible when compassionate, skilled educators work closely with students and families. Our teachers bring instructional expertise, enthusiasm, and a genuine commitment to helping each learner make meaningful progress.
LYNX is more than an alternative to a conventional classroom. It is a community where students are known, families are valued as partners, and learning extends beyond desks and walls.
It is inspiring to see our students challenge themselves, discover new abilities, and grow through both academic study and real-world experience. I invite you to explore LYNX and consider whether our flexible, nature-inspired approach could be the right fit for your family.
