Sending our son to Manor Montessori was one of the best decisions we've made. He started in the Casa program at just 2.5 years old and has now completed Grade 1. Looking back, we're incredibly grateful for the strong foundation Manor gave him in the Casa program. We were genuinely shocked at how quickly he learned to read and write - well ahead of what we saw from many children his age. He developed a real love of learning that continues today. Our son has always had a natural aptitude for math, and the Montessori approach allowed him to progress at his own pace rather than being limited by grade-level expectations. The teachers recognized his strengths, nurtured his curiosity, and gave him opportunities to continue advancing and challenging himself. Beyond academics, Manor helped shape him into a kind, polite, confident, and independent child. The teachers were caring and invested in his success, while the administration and principal were always approachable and supportive. Manor truly felt like a community and a home away from home. As our son moves on to a highly competitive new school, we can clearly see how well Manor prepared him. The teachers and principal went above and beyond to guide and prepare him for the admissions process and interview. This made all the difference as we could notice the confidence and love of learning he demonstrated in his interview. Thank you to everyone at Manor Montessori for helping shape the amazing young person our son is becoming. While we are excited for this next chapter, it is bittersweet to leave a school community that has been such an important part of our lives for so many years. We will miss the teachers and staff, as well as the sense of belonging that Manor gave us all these years.
Why Manor Montessori School?
We wanted our son to have a Montessori experience. We chose Manor because of its ideal location, class size and proximity. We also appreciated the teacher-to-student ratio.
Expectations vs. Reality
We didn't think the school would focus so much on independence and solid reading and writing skills. My son, at the age of 6, has solid presentation skills with confidence and grace. We didn't expect this important skill to have developed at such a young age - this will serve him for the rest of his life.
Your Advice
Your child will learn to read and write cursive in a way that will surprise you. The Montessori math method is different from what you'd expect, but the approach will help the child have a solid foundation for life.
