To present the 2018 Pere Athol Murray Award, I would like to share the words of one of the nominations.
"This nominee is a great person to have in the dorms, the locker room, and the classroom. They are kind, and never afraid of what others will think. They leads by example; taking initiative in dorm activities, as well as on their team. They are a very supportive person who is reliable and trustworthy with your private thoughts. This person is a strong student in the classroom, as well as leader. Others follow them by example and I don't know any student, staff or faculty member who does not enjoy their presence. They are someone I can go to if I need help, knowing they will always puts the needs of others before themselves. They are hard working, determined, and resilient, many attributes of Pere Athol Murray. This person makes such a large impact on students at Notre Dame, regardless of who they are based on their open minded approach of every task they complete. Not only do they enhance the lives of many here at Notre Dame, they will continue to make a positive impact on everybody they meet onward with their kind, and caring leadership attributes they carry. They remind me of Pere in many ways, through their ability to make the best of any situation regardless of the problems. With this in mind, I have no doubt that this person is in my opinion the perfect candidate of the 2018 Pere Athol Murray Award."
