Earth Month Challenge: Composting
Last week’s (April 10-13) Earth Month challenge was all about composting. As a school we saved forty-five pounds from entering the landfills. The class with the most amount of compost was Ms. Murphy’s grade one class who composted 11.14 pounds. Congratulations! Way to get your green on GAA.
Running Club: Spring Session
This week kicks off the second session of the GAA Spring running club. Over 30 students are participating in this active, fun and energizing extra curricular team, taking place every Thursday from 3:30-4:30pm. Thanks to teacher and parent volunteers for putting this important club together to help promote healthy and active living!
Grade 6-8 Intramural Soccer Match
The winner was Game of Throw-Ins - the score was 6-3. It was a great match! Both teams played fantastic applying pressure on offence and solid defence. William Miles had a phenomenal save in the second half and the other team Rush Hour never gave up - coming back from a 4-0 lead to make it 4-3. JJ scored two goals in the second half to secure the win. Well done and congratulations to both teams!
Oratoricals: Thursday April 20th
On Thursday April 20th, Oratorical finalists from Kindergarten, the primary, junior and intermediate divisions presented their engaging, exciting and passionate speeches on a range of topics. We are thrilled to announce the following winners and honorary mentions:

Gregg LeRock: Friday April 21st
On Friday April 21st, the Grades 3-6 classes attended an energizing rock concert by French musician Gregg Le Rock and his guest DJ David. Students sang along to his French songs and participated in on-stage singing and dancing. A wonderful time was had by all!
Upcycle Projects
On Friday April 21st, students showcased their recycling art skills with the Upcycle projects! Students collected recyclable materials and worked collaboratively to create unique and eye catching art pieces!
