This past 2016/2017 school year G.B.M.S & D.E.P.S celebrated their 34th year and the opening of Durham Academy Secondary School. This year our D.E.P.S students from grades 3 to 8 made the finals in presenting their speeches. We purchased and gave workshops/ camps on our new 3D printer. Our students were able to mathematically design pencil holders, bird feeders, cars etc and have the 3D printer produce the object. Our grade 7&8 students finished the year with a trip to Muskoka.
Our students from the Toddlers to grade 8 performed a Christmas concert in December, in February they presented a French Concert and in June they performed a musical theatre concert with the emphasis on Canada's 150th birthday.
We continue to offer the emergent curriculum and Montessori curriculum to our G.B.M.S students as well as music and French classes starting at age 3..
Durham Academy Secondary School is opening September 2017 teaching grades 9 to 12. Registration is still open and tours are given regularly. Durham Academy boasts a huge building with large, bright classrooms, a gymnasium and a computer/science lab. We offer optional lunch time intrarmurals and music programs.
All 3 schools offer an excellent ESL program including tutoring.
