Students and staff were online the first day back after March Break 2020. It was a huge adjustment for all, but our community is strong and we got through it together. In September 2020, we were well prepared and confident for an in-person learning return. New sanitization protocols were in place, distancing in classrooms was accommodated as were ventilation and air purifiers. We responded quickly and efficiently to new procedures and protocols to keep everyone safe.
The younger students formed one cohort and the older students were in another cohort on the opposite side of the school.
We learned how to offer our physical education programme safely and the children enjoyed their favourite activities inside and out. The music programme also did not miss a beat and the children progressed through two recorder levels playing safely behind screens. We all wore our masks for choir practise and practised in a similar safe way. We even had a socially distanced Talent Show and the kids danced, played piano, and performed magic tricks for their cohort. Private music lessons were offered after school in piano and ukulele.
