Every month our Oak Bridge High School students choose a different charity to donate their proceeds from the Cookie Cafe to a charity of their choosing. For the month of April our students chose to donate their $240 proceeds to Epilepsy Ontario, a charity that is near and dear to our hearts.
The students were very proud to be able to donate back to our community, they are also finding that being able to choose causes that are important to them is very rewarding. Our students are very aware that others give to OBA and that they are the recipients of others generosity, this is their way to give back.
The Cookie Cafe has not only been an incredible learning experience for the OBHS students but for the rest of the school as well. Our elementary students and staff benefit from having a food service within the school and experience the joy of knowing that but purchasing from the Cafe also gives back to their community.
