A child’s eyes widen as they take a microscopic look at a ladybug in the garden; another beams as he reviews his video through augmented reality – a campaign he has just completed on banning water bottles. Meanwhile, a group shares stories in the forest and dream big about the world around them.
Learning opportunities are all around us. For Star Academy, our 11 month school year is designed to take advantage of as many teachable moments as possible.
‘Project-based learning’ allows a student to delve into a topic and bring it to life in a cross-curricular format that minimizes the formality of scheduled timetables. The learning month of July is unique to Star Academy as it incorporates curriculum content in a more ‘camp-like’ atmosphere through project-based learning.
July is a wonderful stepping stone to September as students are introduced to their teachers and classmates and become familiar with the setting they will be learning in throughout the year. We know it is summer so we don’t have a uniform and we don’t assign homework. We do provide a fun, engaging and active environment implemented by our qualified teaching staff.
