From the start of my search for schools, the support received from the school leadership at OAT was extraordinary. Since my son is an international student, there were many issues that needed to be resolved and I received the necessary help from the leadership for them. My trust in the school leadership is absolute, because they know my son and support him everytime he needs. I am absolutely confident that my son is receiving the help needed to achieve his goals.
The school is led by a Head Teacher, Hamed. Having lived and worked on three continents he is able to provide broad perspectives on all topics ranging from physics to philosophy. He is the kindest and most patient person that I have ever seen in education. No student could ever hope to have a better class or school leader. He always goes out of his way to make sure that everyone is on track and enjoying school.
The school environment was always very positive! I only took a night course there but I did get to know that it was really a close knit group of people who all respected each other. Because of the smaller class sizes, teachers and students are able to build real bonds that lead to honest and open communication when discipline is necessary. Students respect the administration because of this, leading to a very positive both learning and general environment! I experienced fair grading, which reflected the respect my teacher had for me because it meant he wanted me to improve by showing me where I was doing well and where I could improve.
We have never had a single problem with OAT's administration. Mr. Bahadour is always eager to address issues as soon as they arise. He is open to working with students and families on any concerns, always has positive solutions to offer, and treats students as equal partners in the learning experience. He expects students to do their part and always does much more than his own. When issues have arisen, he has been very patient and generous with his time in responding to student concerns.
The principal at OAT communicates regularly with parents by email. We receive school updates and summaries of any events. I have also met in person, spoken by phone and emailed the principal. The teachers are available to meet before and after school. I meet with my son's teachers every semester. The teachers are available to help students after class, I think this may be on specific days or by appointment. There haven't been any discipline issues within the school that I am aware of.
