As a concerned parent, I looked into many different schools in the area and some other options a little further from our address. As soon as we arrived at Olivet, I could see on my daughter’s face how much she enjoyed Olivet School’s environment and how comfortable she felt (even as a shy girl) around the staff. They were not just friendly, but they had a special approach, that somehow treated her as an individual, not as a part of a statistic, or one more number. Today, she loves even more to school and we feel like we make the right choice.
School life is great at Olivet. Sometimes my children don't want to leave the school premises. We are allowed to stay on the play ground after school and the fun continues. Parents talk with each other while the children play. We feel safe and secure with each other. My children love going to school. They want to see their friends and teachers. They don't want to miss the days activity at school. They learn in a safe, friendly environment and the teaching techniques are fun. They keep up to date on some issues in society but not too much to overwhelm their childhood. They lower the flag when we mourn a life of a fallen hero.
My daughter truly loved going to Olivet. When she would misbehave or wouldn't listen, all I had to say was, "If you continue misbehaving you will not go to school tomorrow" and that would work instantly. I knew how much she loved going to Olivet and staying home would be worse than any other punishment. For any prospective families what insights I can offer you in the life of Olivet is this: If having your children growing in a positive, secure, and loving environment where they also learn to love and respect God, themselves, and each other then Olivet School is where they should be.
