(4.5) Student Experience

Ontario Virtual School is fantastic for anyone who has a busy schedule due to work, or like me, sport, being able to move at your own pace benefited me a lot, especially in a class like English, which I took. I was able to plan my lessons around my schedule, I didn't feel the stress of looming deadlines and took my time with my assignments, helping me do better on them. My teacher was excellent, responding in a reasonable time and providing very helpful feedback that helped me improve my writing, I would definitely recommend Ontario virtual school for everyone especially for classes like English, Law or other more writing based courses as the lessons that were provided for my grade 11 English course were engaging and informative, and the assignments were easy to understand and very fun to do. I definitely recommend Ontario Virtual School.

(4.5) School Leadership

Because I took an E-learning course there was no principal (might have been but I don't know who it is) however I believe there were links to external resources, I did not use them myself but if they are there, they would be very useful, especially for someone who plans to use Ontario virtual school for more courses then I did or potentially a harder course such as a math, chemistry, physics, biology or a grade twelve course where a person might need more help.

(5) Teaching

The teachers, both the one in the videos and the one marking my work, are excellent teachers. The video lessons are easy to follow and understand, they are the right pace while providing enough useful information to engage me for the entire lesson. The teacher marking my work was excellent as she helped when I asked for it and provided excellent feedback for how I can improve my work, especially my writing, as I took a grade eleven English course. The marking was fair and the rubric was very in-depth and useful, and helped me when I was writing or making (as there are some non-writing assignments) my assignments. If you don't want to read all that, read this: The Teacher was good. I need to get 125 words, and this is that.

(4) Academics

The work was a bit long, but that makes sense as it is a writing based course (Grade 11 English) while long, the work was easy to understand, connected to the lessons and unit well and was very engaging, if I did need help, I could look back at the lessons or the examples provided and I would be able to navigate through any difficulties alone and was not reliant on the teachers availability for my ability to complete the tasks. So, to recap, in the grade 11 English course, the work was long, but not particularly difficult and very engaging and easy to understand, and the resources provided (video lessons, rubrics, examples provided) were enough to help me solve any difficulties I had. Ok, thank you.

(3.5) School Life

I took e-learning, so there was no campus. The website is very simple and easy to use, and if I did have any questions, the answer was easy to find either using the instructional intro video or the question mark at the top right of the screen. so, the Ontario virtual school (as the name suggests) is a virtual school, and so I can obviously not literally give a tour of the school, but the website has man cool features and the instructional video at the start of the course makes it easy to navigate and understand, answered all my questions and was not to long so kept me engaged the entire time, once again if your looking for a school campus, not here.

(4) Admissions

The admissions process was easy; I just had to pick what course I wanted to take and then pay. While slightly expensive, I would say that it's worth it for the majority of courses, especially if they cannot be taken any other way. I felt no emotions during the admission process, as there were no rejections. Let's run through the steps: search up Ontario Virtual School, pick a course (pick the right one), pay. Congratulations, you are in! Now, get good grades.
