(5) Student Experience
I had a great experience taking Grade 12 English with Ontario Virtual School. The best part was how flexible it was; I could do the course on my own time, which really helped me stay on top of everything. I chose OVS instead of my regular day school because I wanted to work at my own pace and finish faster. The teacher was very helpful and always replied quickly. My assignments were marked fast, and the feedback was clear. I also used the practice tests and online textbook, which made studying easier and helped me get a better mark. The staff at OVS were supportive and easy to reach when I needed help. My final mark was posted to OUAC with no issues, which helped with my university applications. I’m really happy I chose OVS and would recommend it to anyone looking for a flexible and supportive online school.
(5) School Leadership
Taking my Grade 12 English course with Ontario Virtual School was a great experience. I liked how flexible it was — I could work at my own pace and finish the course when it worked best for me. The teacher was helpful and responded quickly to any questions. Assignments were marked fast with clear feedback. I also used the online textbook and practice tests, which made things easier. The staff were supportive, and my mark was sent to OUAC on time for university.
(5) Teaching
I think the teacher had a really good balance when it came to expectations. The work was challenging enough to help me grow, but never too overwhelming. I always felt like I knew exactly what was expected of me because the instructions were clear and the lessons were well-organized. Whenever I was unsure about something, the teacher responded quickly and explained things in a way that made sense. I think when teachers talk about success, they mean helping students not just get good grades, but actually understand the material and feel confident in their learning. My OVS teacher truly wanted students to succeed. It felt like they cared about helping us do our best and were always there to support us. I felt encouraged throughout the course and really appreciated how dedicated and professional my teacher was.
(5) Academics
I found the work in my OVS course to be just right. It was challenging enough to keep me engaged, but not too hard that I felt lost or stressed. The assignments helped me think deeper and improve my reading and writing skills. I definitely think what I learned will be useful later in life. Strong communication, critical thinking, and being able to analyze texts are skills I know I’ll need in university and even in a future career. The course also helped me manage my time better, since I had to plan out my own schedule. My teacher made the learning experience even better by giving helpful feedback and clear instructions. Overall, I feel like the course prepared me well and taught me skills that will last beyond just school.
(5) School Life
Since Ontario Virtual School is fully online, if I were asked to give a tour to a group of visitors, I would start by showing them the main student dashboard. This is where everything begins. Students can access their courses, check their progress, submit assignments, and communicate with teachers. It’s user-friendly and well-organized, which makes it easy to stay on track. I’d explain how each course is laid out with clear lessons, videos, and practice activities that help students understand the material step by step. I would also highlight how quickly teachers respond and how easy it is to get help when needed. This dashboard is like the heart of the school, and it shows how OVS supports students to work independently while still feeling connected and guided throughout the course.
(5) Admissions
The admissions process at Ontario Virtual School was very simple and stress-free. I just went to the website, selected the course I wanted, filled out some basic information, and made the payment. Everything was clearly explained, and I got access to my course quickly. It was actually kind of exciting to start right away without a long wait. For anyone applying, I’d say don’t worry, it’s fast, easy, and there’s always support if you need help. I didn’t know at first how flexible it would be, but now I realize how helpful it is to be able to work at your own pace. Looking back, I’m really glad I applied because it was one of the smoothest and most supportive school experiences I’ve had.
