(5) Student Experience

At OVS, it was easy to understand the layout of the program and to follow my lessons and assignments. All the things I needed to know were in tabs that were easy to navigate. The lessons themselves were okay, but sometimes the voice note left on the slide would cut off while the teacher was speaking, or sometimes it would continue playing even after the teacher finished speaking, running with no sound at all. As well, the unit review didn’t cover everything I had learned in the unit, but it did cover most of it and was displayed clearly. Altogether, it was good.

(5) School Leadership

I respected my teacher throughout the whole time I was taking my class at OVS. Whenever I emailed a question, he would always respond. The only thing I noticed was that sometimes when I sent an email with a question, it would take a couple of hours before my teacher responded, instead of a few minutes or at most an hour. When I did receive a response, my teacher gave clear details about how to find the answer to my questions.

(5) Teaching

I feel that the workload was just right, as there would be a lab in the middle of the unit and then a final test at the end. In total, there were five units, and each had a lab and a test, which I felt was a decent amount to help maintain your grade. I feel that with the lessons provided, my teacher expected that I would understand the curriculum and know when to use certain formulas to answer and respond to the questions given to me. When my teacher talked about success in the lessons, he wanted me to understand the material I learned, and if I didn’t understand a certain part, I should rewatch it and understand better what I needed to know.

(5) Academics

I feel the work was just right, as it wasn’t too easy or too hard—it was just right. I think that what I have learned with OVS and taking physics will definitely help me later in life. Now I understand physics well, and in my career choice, I will be able to use physics whenever I need to figure out a solution to a problem. Also, with the learning from OVS, I can use it in my college classes if I take a physics class or even do something related to physics. The knowledge I have already learned will help me apply it today without having to worry about not understanding.

(5) School Life

I’m not really able to tour a virtual school, but I would be able to help out with the different functions and how to use different tools inside the OVS program. I would be able to help them follow the orientation part of OVS and guide them through the dashboard itself. I would be able to help them find their lessons and understand how to follow them so that they can complete the unit. I would be able to locate the assignments their teacher has provided for them to complete, and then help them find their grades once the teacher returns their marks. I can also help them see the teacher’s comments and understand what they should improve on.

(5) Admissions

The admission process was not too hard to follow, as all I had to do was enter my information and then choose the class I needed to complete. It wasn’t complicated, and I didn’t find it stressful at all, since you receive everything you need pretty quickly and don’t have to worry about not getting your classes right away. All I had to provide to OVS was my prerequisite to show that I had the background knowledge for the course I was taking.
