(4) Student Experience
Ontario Virtual School was a great experience for my Grade 11 University Physics course. I loved the ability to work at my own pace and the responsiveness of my teacher, Nicholas Chevalier. It never took more than 36 hours for anything to get done, whether it was a weekend or a weekday. The average time was much shorter, and most assignments I got back were returned the same day. There was some room for Ontario Virtual School to grow in the assignments part of their e-school. At the start, they were a bit unclear in what they were asking and looking for. For example, on one of my assignments, I had to fill out a PDF with answers, but there was nowhere to show my work and no section that told me to attach it or that they needed to see the steps I did on paper, as the PDF only had space for the answers. Fortunately, I think they already solved this problem. When I started taking this course over the summer, the format for all the assignments changed, which hopefully fixed this as well. I loved the content and the structure for the most part, but some of the added videos seemed unnecessary for the learning goals and repetitive. Overall, it was a great experience and program with improved and updated courses. It was above my expectations.
The Best Part
The at-your-own-pace format was great. I did this course across multiple time zones and countries when I had time, which helped me manage it because I never felt overwhelmed by deadlines.
Suggested Improvements
The homework sections were inconsistent. Only some of the questions had answers, and some questions weren't relevant. There were also a lot of repetitive videos within the lessons.
Hidden Details
The support available through an online class was something I was worried would feel very robotic and superficial when it came to feedback and layouts, but it wasn't. There are also options for tutoring, which is a super helpful feature, as there is a fair amount of content.
(4.5) School Leadership
I only interacted with the teacher through the course, so I can't comment on the guidance or the Headmaster. My teacher did a great job telling me how to improve and outlining my next steps. I respect the teacher; he knew the content extremely well and was very helpful in outlining how to improve.

(2.5) School Life
if you just want efficient learning it does the job but school is much more than just an online class you do by yourself I felt that was lacking but that's why your signing up for just something to keep in mind.
