(5) Student Experience

I really enjoyed my experience with Ontario Virtual School. I really enjoyed how clear it was in terms of assignments, homework, and lessons. It is so beneficial to be able to rewatch lessons over again, in case you missed anything. My teacher (Mrs. Humphreys) was always available for help and provided great feedback in a very timely manner. Another thing that is great is that you can submit your assignments for feedback before they get marked. This was great because it allowed you to make changes so that you could submit an even more polished final assignment. My assignments were always marked and handed back in a really short time, which was great! I like having the video aspect of the lessons so that I can watch and listen at the same time. I also like the extra videos that they insert to reinforce the learning.

The Best Part

The best part of being a student at this school is being able to complete the lessons on your own time. Also, being able to rewatch the lessons was very useful in case you missed anything.

Suggested Improvements

I actually found the whole process easy to navigate and wouldn't really change much at all. Maybe having a few more recent videos regarding how AI and smartphones are affecting youth.

Hidden Details

I think what might surprise a student is how easy it is to navigate the courses. It is so well explained, and each step is explained so that you understand everything; there is no room for confusion.

My teacher (Mrs. Humphreys) was great and was always available for feedback. She would always provide feedback on my assignments before she marked them, which was really useful because I was able to work on improving them before I submitted the final one.

I thought my teacher did a great job explaining what was needed and gave great feedback. My teacher also provided timely feedback, which was great because everything was fresh in my mind about the assignment I was working on.

I thought the amount of work was just right and will be useful later in life because it helped me continue practising my skills in reading and writing.

(5) Extracurriculars

This is an online school, and there are no clubs or teams that I am aware of. I took this course because it didn't fit into my regular day school timetable.

This is an online school so there is no way to physically visit this school. I think that the students who do best at this online school are those who are self-disciplined.

This is an online school, but I liked the feeling it gave me to be able to do the work on my own time and to be able to rewatch lessons over and over again.

The admissions process was very straightforward. All I needed to do was provide my prerequisites to make sure that I was able to take the course.
