(5) Student Experience
I'm a Grade 12 student, and I had a really good experience taking ICS4U with Ontario Virtual School. I liked being able to work at my own pace and complete the lessons around my schedule. The video lessons were really helpful because I could pause, rewind, or fast-forward them whenever I needed to. If I didn’t understand something, I could easily go back and watch that part again, which made learning much easier. My teacher, Mr. Chui, was very responsive and helpful. He graded my assignments quickly and gave me useful feedback that I could use to improve my work. Whenever I had a question, he was easy to reach and always helpful. I was able to finish ICS4U with a 95%, which I was so excited about, considering that I am an IEP student.
The Best Part
Being an IEP student, it really helped that I could work at my own pace and take extra time when I needed it to understand lessons.
Suggested Improvements
I don’t really have any suggestions for improvement because I think the course worked really well and I had a great experience overall with OVS.
Hidden Details
Make sure you carefully read the project instructions, including how to submit your work and all the different parts that need to be included along with it.
(3) School Leadership
I didn’t have much interaction with student support, but I did communicate with my course teacher and the administrative team, who were always very helpful.
(5) Teaching
I think the expectations were fair and clear. I knew what was expected, and success meant understanding the course, completing my work, and improving based on feedback.
(5) Academics
The work was just right and challenging at times. I think what I learned will be useful, especially problem-solving and computer skills, for my future studies.
(2.5) School Life
Since I attended virtually, I would show them the online learning platform first because that’s where I accessed my lessons, videos, assignments, and course materials.
(5) Admissions
The process was simple. I purchased the course online, submitted my previous grades and required documents, and was able to start. It wasn’t stressful at all.
