I had a really great experience completing SBI3U through Ontario Virtual School, and I’m very happy with my experience with OVS. I finished the course with a 97%, which I’m very proud of! The video lessons made the material much easier to understand and helped me learn at my own pace. I also liked having access to the textbooks and workbooks because they gave me extra practice and helped me prepare for assignments and tests. My teacher, Nicolaas, was very helpful throughout the course. The feedback and marking were clear and helpful, and I always felt supported when I had questions or needed clarification. Having the flexibility to complete the course online while still having teacher support made a big difference for me. I also really appreciated that OVS provides additional student support and access to 1:1 tutoring for science and math courses. Knowing that help was available when needed made me feel more confident while working independently. Overall, I had a very positive experience with OVS. The flexibility, helpful learning resources, and support from my teacher made it possible for me to stay motivated and achieve a 97% in SBI3U. I would definitely recommend OVS to students who are looking for a flexible and supportive online learning experience.

The Best Part

The best part about being a student at OVS is the flexibility and the ability to learn at my own pace. I really enjoyed being able to organize my studies around my schedule while still having access to teacher support and helpful learning resources. I also looked forward to completing each lesson and seeing my progress throughout the course, especially when my hard work was reflected in my marks.

Suggested Improvements

One thing that could make the student experience even better would be having more opportunities for live interaction with teachers and other students. Since online learning can sometimes feel independent, having occasional live classes, group discussions, or study sessions could make students feel more connected and engaged. Overall, though, I found the learning experience very well organized and supportive.

Hidden Details

One thing that might surprise a new student is how much support is actually available even though OVS is an online school. At first, I thought I would have to figure everything out on my own, but there are teachers, learning resources, and tutoring support available when you need help. I also really appreciated how flexible the courses are, which allows you to manage your time and learn at your own pace. The amount of independence you have can be challenging at first, but it also helps you become more responsible and confident in your learning.
