(3.5) Student Experience

Overall, I had a really good experience taking CHY4U through Ontario Virtual School. The course was easy to follow, and I liked being able to work through the material on my own schedule. There was a steady amount of coursework, but I wouldn’t say it was any more than what you would get in a regular high school class. You definitely had to keep up with the work, but it was manageable. My teacher was quick to respond to emails, which I appreciated. However, there were a few times when I felt they hadn’t fully read or understood my questions, so I had to send follow-up emails to clarify what I meant. Other than that, I had a positive experience and would recommend OVS to other students.

The Best Part

The best part was the flexibility to work around my own schedule while still getting the same quality of education as a regular high school course.

Suggested Improvements

Teachers could improve by providing more context in email responses and ensuring questions are fully addressed. Clearer assignment instructions would also help avoid unnecessary confusion.
