(5) Student Experience
My experience with OVS has been excellent, and I would highly recommend it to anyone considering online education. The video format of the lessons makes learning engaging, clear, and easy to follow at my own pace. I also really enjoy the gamification feature, which allows students to challenge each other in real time and makes learning more interactive and enjoyable. The teachers are very supportive, and I especially want to recognize Ms. Mylvaganam for being an amazing teacher. She is always responsive to questions, provides feedback quickly, and marks assignments in a timely manner, which makes it easy to stay on track with the course. Overall, OVS offers flexibility, engaging lessons, and excellent teacher support, making online learning a great experience for those looking to receive a great online education.
The Best Part
The best part about being a student at OVS is the support and assistance provided by the teachers. They are always willing to help, answer questions, and provide guidance whenever students need it. Knowing that teachers are accessible and responsive makes learning much less stressful and allows students to feel confident in their progress. Students can look forward to receiving helpful feedback, having their questions answered promptly, and knowing they have teachers who genuinely want them to succeed.
Suggested Improvements
One thing I wish could be improved is having more interactive elements throughout the courses. While the video lessons are helpful, adding more practice activities, quizzes, and opportunities to apply what students have learned could make lessons even more engaging and help students better understand the material.
Hidden Details
A new student might be surprised by how much flexibility OVS offers while still providing a strong level of teacher support. Even though everything is online, students aren't left to figure things out on their own. Teachers are accessible, respond to questions, and provide feedback on assignments, making it feel much more supported than someone might initially expect from an online school.
(5) School Leadership
Yes, I have a lot of respect for the teachers at OVS. They do a great job of making sure students have the support and resources they need to succeed. The teachers are especially helpful because they are responsive, approachable, and provide timely feedback on assignments. I also appreciate the flexibility and understanding they show toward students. I would like to see even more opportunities for students to receive guidance about university applications, course planning, and future career paths. Overall, I think the staff genuinely care about student success.
(5) Teaching
I think the teachers at OVS have reasonable expectations and ask enough of students to ensure they are learning and staying on track without feeling overwhelmed. I generally feel that assignment instructions, deadlines, and expectations are clear, which makes it easier to manage my workload and understand what is required of me. If I ever have questions or need clarification, the teachers are approachable and responsive. When teachers talk about success, I think they mean more than simply achieving high grades. They want students to genuinely understand the material, develop strong time-management and independent learning skills, and take responsibility for their education. I believe they also want students to feel prepared for university, future careers, and challenges beyond school. Overall, I think their main goal is to help students become confident, independent, and successful learners.
(5) Academics
I would say the workload at OVS is generally just right. Some assignments and topics can be challenging, but they encourage students to think critically, develop problem-solving skills, and improve their understanding of the subject. I also appreciate that the courses allow students to work at their own pace while still maintaining academic expectations. I definitely think what I am learning will be useful later in life, especially as I prepare for university and a future career. The courses help build important skills such as time management, independence, organization, and critical thinking. Beyond the actual course material, learning how to manage my own schedule and stay motivated in an online learning environment are valuable skills that I will continue to use throughout university and my professional life.
