"At Read Write Think, learning is built around each child. Our flexible academic cohorts allow students to learn at their level rather than their age, creating opportunities for acceleration, enrichment, and skill development. Students ready to move ahead are challenged with advanced content and meaningful learning experiences, while those needing additional time receive support to build confidence and skill. We shape the educational experience around each student's unique path. We orbit around your child."
Our school is built on the belief that students thrive when learning is personalized, challenging, and meaningful. Rather than placing students solely by grade, they are grouped by their readiness in each subject, allowing them to be appropriately challenged while building confidence and expanding horizons. Every student follows a personalized timetable tailored to their academic profile and goals. Small class sizes enable teachers to know each learner well, adjust instruction in real time, and provide meaningful feedback. Our enriched curriculum extends beyond Ontario expectations through classical literacy, advanced mathematics, science, financial literacy, global studies, independent study, and public speaking. Students also benefit from daily opportunities for movement, outdoor learning, and leadership development. The result is confident, independent learners who think critically, communicate effectively, and are well prepared for university, careers, and lifelong success.
We choose personalization over standardization. Rather than moving every student through the same curriculum at the same pace, students are grouped by their level in each subject. This means schedules are more complex to create, but students are consistently challenged and supported where they are academically. We choose depth over breadth. Instead of covering as many topics as possible, we devote more time to classical, essential concepts. Students revisit skills until they develop confidence, understanding, and independence before moving on. We choose small learning communities over large classes. Keeping classes intentionally small allows teachers to know each student well, adjust instruction quickly, and build meaningful relationships. While this limits the number of students we can serve, it creates a more responsive learning environment. We choose challenge over convenience.
Students are encouraged to work just beyond their comfort zone through enriched academics to ensure growth
Read Write Think Private School was founded on a simple belief: every child deserves personalized instruction, meaningful challenge, and the opportunity to thrive. In 2012, after seven years in public and private education, Julia Paykin opened a small academic practice focused on literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking. As demand grew, Yulia Gorinsky joined in 2019, helping expand the centre into a thriving learning community serving over 150 students. In 2022, Read Write Think Private School was established to provide a full-time enriched educational experience built on the same academic philosophy. In 2026, the school expanded to include Grades 9–12 and became authorized to grant Ontario secondary school credits. Today, our four-acre Vaughan campus reflects our continued commitment to academic excellence, character development, and preparing confident, independent learners for lifelong success.
Read Write Think Private School is an excellent fit for students and families seeking a rigorous, enriched education that develops both academic excellence and strong character. Our school is especially well suited for students who do not thrive in a traditional one-size-fits-all classroom—whether they are ready for greater academic challenge in some subjects or would benefit from strengthening foundational skills in others. Through flexible subject placement, personalized schedules, and small class sizes, every student learns at the level that best supports their growth. Families who value close teacher relationships, individualized attention, high academic expectations, and preparation for success in high school, university, and beyond will find a strong partnership in our school. Together, we cultivate confident, capable, and lifelong learners.
Read Write Think Private School may not be the best fit for families whose primary goal is simply achieving higher grades or accelerating through curriculum as quickly as possible. While academic excellence is important, we believe lasting success is built on deep understanding, critical thinking, strong character, and independent learning—not grades alone. Our approach emphasizes mastery over memorization and depth over rushing through content. Families seeking a broad exposure to many topics without the time to develop genuine understanding may find our philosophy different from their expectations. We are best suited for families who value meaningful learning, personal growth, strong teacher relationships, and preparing students not only for their next grade, but for university, careers, and life.
Families choose Read Write Think Private School because they are looking for a truly personalized educational experience. They value our intentionally small class sizes, where every student is known, challenged, and supported as an individual. Parents often tell us they appreciate the strong relationships we build with students and families, creating a welcoming community where communication and trust are priorities. Our flexible cohorting model allows students to learn at the appropriate level in each subject, ensuring both challenge and confidence. Families are also drawn to our enriched, character-based curriculum, personalized schedules, and emphasis on developing independent learners. Finally, our beautiful, centrally located campus offers daily access to green space, sports, and outdoor learning, providing a balanced educational experience that supports both academic excellence and student well-being.

Families choose Read Write Think Private School because of the reputation we have built for delivering personalized, high-quality education in a warm and supportive community. Many families come to us through word of mouth, having heard about our dedicated teachers, strong academic outcomes, and genuine relationships with students and parents. They value our small class sizes, flexible subject placement, enriched curriculum, and commitment to helping every child reach their potential. Families also appreciate that we know our students as individuals, communicate openly, and work in partnership with parents. Over the years, we have earned a reputation for building strong academic foundations, developing confident and independent learners, and preparing students not only for academic success, but for life beyond the classroom.
One of the most underappreciated aspects of our school is the time, expertise, and planning that goes into every student's educational program. Families see the personalized schedules and flexible subject placement, but often do not realize the careful assessment, collaboration, and ongoing adjustments required to make them successful. We take the time to truly understand each student's strengths, needs, interests, and learning profile, then design instruction that challenges advanced learners while strengthening foundational skills where needed. This individualized planning continues throughout the year as students grow and progress. It is meticulous work behind the scenes, but it is what allows every student to receive an education that is purposeful, appropriately challenging, and designed to help them reach their full potential.
Families are often surprised by how well we truly know each student. Beyond academics, we understand our students' strengths, interests, personalities, learning styles, and social and emotional development. This deep understanding allows us to build meaningful relationships and tailor each student's educational experience. Families are also surprised by the amount of research, planning, and professional learning that happens behind the scenes. We continually evaluate educational research, instructional methods, and best practices to ensure our teaching is both evidence-informed and highly effective. Every program, schedule, and instructional decision is intentional. What families initially see as a personalized school experience is supported by countless hours of thoughtful planning, collaboration, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
To better serve our growing school community, Read Write Think recently relocated to a spacious four-acre campus designed to support both academic excellence and student well-being. The new campus provides bright classrooms, dedicated elementary and high school learning spaces, a gymnasium, green outdoor areas, and sports fields, creating more opportunities for movement, outdoor learning, and community building. We also expanded from an elementary school to a fully authorized Kindergarten–Grade 12 private school after successfully completing the Ontario inspection process for secondary education. This allows students to continue their educational journey within the same personalized, enriched learning environment, providing continuity, strong relationships, and a consistent academic philosophy from the early years through graduation.
Over the next five years, we envision Read Write Think becoming a leading example of personalized, enriched education. As our community grows, we will remain committed to small class sizes, flexible subject placement, and knowing every student as an individual. We will continue refining our curriculum by integrating the most effective evidence-based teaching practices while expanding opportunities in leadership, independent study, financial literacy, STEM, public speaking, and global education. We also plan to strengthen our high school program by offering additional pathways that prepare students for university, college, skilled trades, and entrepreneurship. Throughout this growth, our mission will remain unchanged: to provide a challenging, character-based education that develops confident, independent learners who are well prepared for an ever-changing world.
