Highlights from the interview
- The process of choosing St. Mildred's was an interesting one for us because it wasn't so much about gaining admission to the school as it was about gaining acceptance in my wife's mind… About a month into our daughter’s first year, my wife said, "You were right. This is the best place for her." From that day forward, she became St. Mildred's biggest cheerleader. The process of choosing St.
My daughter's response to St. Mildred's was immediate and transformative. Her academic performance soared, and her love for the school and its community grew quickly.
One memorable moment that surprised us was Abby joining the robotics club in her first week, despite neither of us knowing she had an interest in it… These opportunities reflected the school’s motto: “Teaching girls to dare since 1891.” The teachers encouraged Abby to push herself beyond what she might have achieved on her own.
The relationships formed during her five years at St. Mildred's have lasted past graduation. She is expressive, articulate, outgoing, and confident, though initially hesitant to speak in front of large audiences.
Our experience with the teachers and administration at St. Mildred's has been ongoing and meaningful. Even two years after graduation, we maintain relationships with many staff members. Their care, compassion, and dedication to both our daughter and our family made a lasting impression and continue to guide us.
A private school education over multiple years is a significant investment, but the return on that investment is evident when you see your child thrive in such an enriching environment. Each family will have unique expectations and circumstances, but understanding your child and recognizing when a school is the right fit is crucial.
In our case, we knew St. Mildred's was the best place for Abby, and committing to a five-year journey from grade eight through grade twelve was the right decision.
