I think that the smaller nurturing environment that Sunnybrook has, it's a real community and she has really flourished there. Her love of learning, and her love of going to school, speaks volumes for what a great program they have there.
I really appreciate, from a parent perspective, the easy access and communication to all the faculty. Through the years, I've had really great, open communication with the teachers.
The IB learner profiles really play a vital role in the curriculum and in the development of the kids, and all the programs that they run.
Being aware of the carbon footprint, planting trees, Earth days, being aware of how you impact the environment, (and) how the environment impacts us, I think has been really important (at the school). And how you, as a sole person, are part of a greater community and how each person has a role and the importance of that in the school.
One of the things I really like about the community at Sunnybrook is it's very down to earth. I think that there are different economic backgrounds in the homes of the children that come, but I don't think anybody really knows or it isn't of any importance. It's a little village, and the parents are very involved.
When our daughter got up to do her presentation, we were just completely blown away. She was so confident and so well-spoken and so prepared. Her research was amazing, and it just completely floored us…And I think that's definitely thanks to the school for sure.
From the perspective of upper-level management of the school, the principal and vice principal have always been extremely accessible.
