I had limited interaction with leadership, but I can say that the few times I did interact with the school, it felt very much like just speaking with a normal school administration. I did get the feeling that they wanted to build a positive community and not just sell courses online en masse. They seemed very accessible at all times and responsive, which can be a big issue when dealing with large schools or even universities or colleges. It helps that they are real local people, some online schools can feel very distant.
I respect the principal, guidance counsellors, teachers, and other staff tremendously as they do everything in their power to make sure that my needs and goals are accommodated in a proper manner. The reason that I switched to Virtual High School was because of my anxiety, and everyone that works at the school makes me feel that I am cared about and a part of the community which is something that really helps me continue to thrive. There was one semester where I was getting overwhelmed with work, and the amazing staff at the school helped switch me to an easier class with no cost, and that made me be able to continue to finish the work without stressing.
