Walnut Forest Academy Reviews

Walnut Forest Academy is a nature-based school shaped by holistic and child-led learning. Its land-based approach feels central rather than decorative. Located in Eden Mills, the school uses forests and waterways as extensions of the classroom. Farmland and trails become classrooms. Community spaces do too. Much of the day unfolds outdoors. Academic ideas are woven into movement and creative play. Art and practical experience invite children to see connections between subjects rather than treating knowledge as a set of disconnected units. Multi-age groupings encourage collaboration. Two educators in each class allow for closer attention, while part-time options can support homeschooling families. The program also welcomes neurodivergent children and students with exceptionalities. This reflects its emphasis on individual strengths and belonging. Walnut Forest will appeal to families who want childhood to include abundant outdoor time and fewer hours on screens. Its character is intimate and experiential, rooted in community and place.
