I partake in a lot of the drama activities and I think they are well managed. I also think they are timed well. There is really no time at luther when there isn't some kind of drama extra curricular - musical, then improv, then one acts.
I don't play a lot of sports, but I do find that while there are some highly competitive sports (volleyball, basketball) Luther also offers a wide variety of less competitive sports that are really great for people who want to be active, but don't have a lot of time to devote to sports (curling, Frisbee...). I am glad that we offer kind of both "types."
I think that a "study group" type of club could be helpful. Providing a space afterschool that is devoted completely to homework and studying that has a teacher on hand who is willing to provide guidance would be helpful both in that it would allow students a quiet space to do homework after school which would help them create good study habits, and a space where they can do if they are needing extra help.
My children have been pleased with everything they've participated in, from athletic to artistic pursuits, to clubs and volunteering. I appreciate that most teams do not cut players, but accept all-takers. I believe that my children are given every opportunity to become well-rounded citizens.
