Confidential Reference
We require one Confidential Reference per applicant from their Math or English teacher. The Confidential Reference Request is found in the applicant's checklist found on the MySchoolApp portal.

Application Fee
The $200.00 application fee is non-refundable and is payable by Visa, MasterCard or American Express.

School Reports
The applicant’s final report card from their last completed academic year, as well as any interim report cards as they become available, may be uploaded to the MySchoolApp portal.

Interview
All applicants will be interviewed during their Day Visit. Applicants unable to visit Ashbury College must participate in a telephone or Zoom interview. To schedule your interview please contact us at [email protected] or +1.613.749.5954.

Day Visit
Grades 4–8 applicants must spend a day at the school at any time during the application process. Grades 9 – 12 applicants are encouraged, but not required, to spend a day at Ashbury College at any time during the application process. Entrance Examination
The Entrance Exam consists of an online standardized multiple-choice test for reading and mathematics skills at the applicant’s last completed grade level. Registration information will be sent through the online application process.

Students may also write the SSAT (Additional Fee).

I remember the application process being surprisingly human. There was an interview that didn’t feel like a test, but to me, it felt like a conversation. They wanted to understand who I was beyond my grades. The admissions team made it clear that they were looking for potential, not perfection. If you're applying to Ashbury College, please do not fake anything. Be curious, be open, and share what actually excites you and do not bandwagon some of the activities, just be you and truthful.

The admission process at Ashbury is very well-supported and straightforward. To be accepted, a student must pass the entrance exam, which is conducted online using a Safe Exam Browser. In my time, the exam consisted of two parts: English Language and Literature, and Mathematics. While not overly demanding, it requires appropriate grade-level knowledge in both subjects and enough agility to complete the test within the allotted timeframe. For international students, proficiency in English is essential. After completing the test, an interview with a member of the Admissions Team follows—or perhaps it is the other way around; I cannot recall for sure. The important part is that the interview lasts about 30 minutes. From my experience, the atmosphere was very friendly. It was not just a formality but a serious yet pleasant conversation.

The admissions process felt welcoming, not intimidating. Interviews focused on what I might contribute, not just grades. Officers answered questions directly and helped ensure a mutual fit. I felt the school genuinely wanted to meet students rather than simply select them. They were thorough but human, asking about passions, interests, and quirks. I can only remember the course selections with the Admissions team. My admissions experience was personal and encouraging. The staff genuinely wanted to understand who I was beyond grades. The interviews feel more like a conversation, and for me, they were curious about my sport and how it might fit into school life. My advice for applicants is to be honest about your interests and commitments. Ashbury works hard to accommodate different paths. Don’t be afraid to ask how they can support your goals.

My admissions process was straightforward and welcoming. The staff and coaches made an effort to get to know me beyond grades and stats. The Admissions process is not that hard. Report cards, an essay by your child you can help them with, a visit day so they can see the school and attend classes and meet Mr. Mutch, these are all hurdles that might cause some anxiety, but which you will see are not that hard. It's just a chance to see the school and meet some people. If you would like to apply for financial assistance, you will have to divulge your financial situation, which seems like an invasion of privacy, but it's done in a secure way to establish that people qualify. You are not guaranteed success. Not everyone who applies gets in. But most do, and if you know that from the beginning, it's just exploring the option. You will have to decide if the expense is worth it. University is also expensive.
