(4.5) Student Experience
Harmony is thoroughly enjoying her time at Lakefield College School. She has flourished both academically and personally, and the school has opened many doors for her. She is involved in a variety of extracurricular activities, such as volleyball, school plays, and the Lorelei choir. Harmony has made many new friends who have become much like family. During her time at LCS, she has become much more independent and confident. The beginning was tough on both of us, being apart, but the Head of House and team helped with Harmony adapting as well as keeping me in the loop. At this point, there is very little she finds disappointing about her experience, as she truly feels supported and engaged within the school community. As a parent, you can't ask for anything more than a happy, strong and independent child who lives away from home.
Why Lakefield College School?
Harmony prepared a presentation and explained why LCS would be the right fit for her. After our LCS introduction and school walk-through, we knew LCS was the right decision.
Expectations vs. Reality
LCS has far exceeded any expectations we had. We are so grateful for the opportunities and networking connections LCS has provided. On a more personal note, Ms. Thalen has been a blessing. A support system and a hug when, as a Mom, you can't be there. The phone calls to say how much your child loves their Head of House are heart-warming.
Your Advice
I would tell a parent considering Lakefield College School that it is a truly supportive and welcoming community where students are encouraged to grow both academically and personally. The school provides many opportunities for students to explore their interests, build confidence, and develop independence. My advice would be to encourage your child to get involved in as many activities as possible, as this is where they build lasting friendships and get the most out of the LCS experience.

(5) School Location
Students are able to walk to town with Head of House permission after school hours. There are always check-in times the students must be back for. On Weekends they can occasionally take a bus from the school to the Peterborough shopping center.
(5) Admissions
The Admissions Team was great to deal with from start to finish. They were available to answer any and all questions and made the application process as smooth as possible.
