On November 18th, Bond Academy hosted a monster-themed Scholastic Book Fair Family Night which included a delicious pasta dinner and a variety of contests and games. Students and their parents were invited to enjoy this fun Family Night together. The contests included a Bean Bag Toss, a Monster Mash Freeze Dance, A Monster Craft Table, a Monster Ball Game and a Gumball Guessing Game.
Congratulations to the winners of the Family Night contests! They are:
(1) Michaela Bachoumis, in Grade six, who won 143 gumballs and $10 in free books by guessing the correct number of gumballs in the basket.
(2) George Xinos, in Montessori 1, who won the $50 Mall Certificate to Scarborough Town Centre.
(3) Avery Francis, in Grade four, who was the winner of the $25 LCBO Gift Card.
(4) Ms Christina Lee, a teacher in Montessori 2, who was the winner of the Family Draw. She won $25 in books for herself and $25 in books for her classroom.
“Bond hosts a school Book Fair to raise funds for the library twice a year. This time, the Book Fair was from November 16th to 20th. These funds are used to purchase new books, resources, and materials for the school’s library,” said Diane Smith, the Librarian at Bond.
Mrs. Smith said that the goal was to raise $2,500 and, not only did we meet that goal, we surpassed it! “This was a record-breaking Book Fair. The grand total was $3,743.75!” she said, “Thanks to everyone who had a part in the success either by purchasing books, helping with set up or clean up, participating in the activities, and supporting the Book Fair in any way.”
A big thank you goes out to all the staff, parents and students at Bond Academy who helped make this Book Fair a success!
