With Christmas and New Year around the corner, decorations have been lightening up Bond Academy; our students and staff are getting into the holiday spirit. On the evening of December 11th, it was crowded at the Bond Academy campus for the annual 2015 Holiday Concerts. All the classes from Montessori to Grade 8 participated as well as our Cheer Team and our Band and Choir. The students performed a variety of challenging vocal and instrumental pieces. This was definitely a night nobody wanted to miss.
During the first concert, students from Montessori to Grade 3, together with the Bond Cheer Team and Junior Choir at Bond Academy gave the audience great performances. With the song “Watch Me”, Bond Academy’s Cheer Team began the show with a burst of enthusiasm and energy. Then each class either wore fancy dresses or cute costumes to perform their holiday songs. The Junior Choir closed the concert by singing “Light a Candle” and “Christmas Wishes” to wish everyone a happy holiday.
The second concert involved students from Grade 4-8, the Bond Senior Choir as well as the band. Each class performed a vocal song and an instrumental piece. The Senior Choir began the second concert with “The Wonder of the Snow” and “Five Favorite Holiday Songs”, followed by each classes’ vocal and instrumental performances. The vocal pieces highlighted a wide range and a variety of genres which included: 1950s pop, jazz, and classic Christmas songs.
For the instrumental pieces, students performed a variety of holiday pieces, including “Up on the Housetop”, “Holly Jolly Christmas” and “Jingle Bells”. The band ended the concert by performing two pieces “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” and “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”. The band asked all the audience to sing along when they played “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”. It was a night for everyone to enjoy and feel proud.
“Thanks to Ms. Harvey and Mr. Michael for continuing to develop the talent of our students. Whenever I walk by the music classrooms, I see children actually enjoying music and that is the most wonderful thing. Our staff is amazing!” said Mr. John Healey, Principal of Bond Academy.
Bond Academy thanks all our staff and students for creating today’s wonderful performances and making the evening an unforgettable memory. Thank you to all the parents for their trust and continuous support.
