Last Saturday (Oct. 17), Bond, together with over 70 other schools, attended the 13th annual Toronto Private School Expo organized by Our Kids Media, at Roy Thomson Hall downtown Toronto.
“Healthy mind, healthy body. At Bond, we offer our students not only the academic education, but also the physical education, in order to prepare them for the real world.” said John Healey, Principal of Bond Academy and the Montessori Casa Program.
“We provide a warm, caring environment and family atmosphere for our students.” said Jeffrey Farber, Principal of Bond International College. He mentioned that Bond International College has many international students, “Our teachers know how to accommodate the students from different culture backgrounds. Besides improving students’ academic skills to become successful, we offer both cultural and sports events. ”
A caring and safe environment, an excellent teaching staff, and the many events are three important factors when parents are considering a school for their children. These qualities can be found at both Bond Academy and Bond International College.
“When I research a school for my child, I ask more about their teachers. I hope the teachers can listen to the children’s ideas, discuss with them about different things, and interact well with children instead of only giving orders.” said a parent, who just came to Canada from China. She was looking for the right school for her son. “I am really glad to know that students at Bond can participate in many activities, such as basketball and hockey teams which can enhance teamwork for the kids while playing.” She showed great interest in Bond and plans to visit our campus with her family next week.
Communications between the school and the parents is very important at Bond. Jane Phillips, Head of Guidance at Bond, said: “The student services at Bond are specially designed to meet the needs of each student on an individual basis. We communicate with the parents on regular basis, to let them know how well the students are doing or if there are any issues we need to help them with.”
During the event, the education experts at Bond talked with parents about the factors to consider when choosing a school, and also showed them the step-by-step process of how to choose the right school for their children.
