On October 28th, the Bond Elementary School, along with ten more schools, participated in the Co-ed Elementary Flag Football Tournament held by the Iceland Sport Complex in Mississauga.
The players on the Bond Elementary Flag Football team are from Grades 6 to 8. For most of them, this was their very first time to play in the tournament as well as play against teams that were older and stronger.
After three Group Matches, the Bond team had the opportunity to play in the Semifinals.
“I am very proud of our team’s performance today!” said Royal Carney, Athletics Director at Bond, “Competing against the older and stronger players, our team did a good job during this tournament; especially as many of them are only in Grade 6. They did their best and it is really impressive that they got in the Top Four.”
