Bond Provides Quality Physical Education
Bond Academy has been recognized for our physical education programs, receiving the Quality (Daily) Physical Education Award from Physical and Health Education Canada.
As an award recipient, Bond received both a certificate and banners to be encouraged to use these resources to show our school and greater community the important work that we are doing to help promote health and physical activity.
Bond Wins 5 Champions
Bond Under 10 Track and Field Team was proud to come home with the Banner in May! The team's combined efforts earned 6 gold medals, 11 silver medals, and 8 bronze medals after competing against over 20 schools at the York University Track and Field Centre. That brings Bond's 2012/2013 Year of the Banner total to five.
Bond Softball Team Wins Silver
Bond is very proud of our Under 14 Softball team that competed in Aurora at the SSAF's co-ed softball tournament. Our students, led by Captain Jennifer Mackay, had an excellent day on the field and at the plate. The team went undefeated all day winning them a spot in the final game against Toronto Montessori School. We were very proud to take home a silver medal against such a worthy opponent.
Throughout the day we were consistently complimented by our opposition on our team's skill and sportsmanlike behaviour. Congratulations to our coaches: Andrea De Luca, Hillary Hennings and Rebecca Purvis. Extra congratulations and thank you to Laura Mackay, a parent volunteer who really made this team happen. Amazing things happen when our school community pulls together!
