In February 2019 the Turnbull School Concert Band participated in the MusicFest Canada Regionals held in Ottawa. Their Gold Level Award performance qualified them for the MusicFest 2019 Nationals held in May. The Band followed up their February achievement and demonstrated their range when they accompanied the school's production of Anne of Green Gables in April.
On May 13, 2019, the Concert Band, made up of students from grades 5 to 8, performed at the Nationals, MusicFest Canada. The Concert Band enjoyed a wonderful performance that earned them a Gold Award. The students and Band Director, Ms. Sheri Harrington were thrilled with their outstanding performance and excellent result.
The previous year, the band performed at the 2018 Nationals, held in Toronto. Their performance earned them a Silver Level Award. The dedication, hard work and talent of Turnbull’s Concert Band has resulted in attendance at Nationals for eight consecutive years where they have earned four gold awards and four silver awards.
