Turnbull School Concert Band earns Silver at Nationals

In February 2017 the Turnbull School Concert Band participated in the MusicFest Canada Regionals held in Ottawa. Their Gold Level Award performance qualified them for the MusicFest 2017 Nationals held in May. The Band followed up their February  achievement and demonstrated their range when they accompanied the school's production of The Wizard of OZ in April. On the morning of May 17th Band Director, Sheri Harrington, Principal Buddy Clinch and the Band students boarded a bus heading for the Nationals in Niagara Falls. The Band enjoyed a three day trip seeing many wonderful sights, including the highlight of a boat trip under the falls. The Band had a repeat performance at the MusicFest 2018 Nationals, held in Toronto. Their performance at both the 2017 and 2018 Nationals earned them Silver Level Awards. The dedication, hard work and talent of Turnbull’s Concert Band has resulted in attendance at Nationals for seven consecutive years where they have earned three gold awards and four silver awards.
