Somerset Academy offers a Gifted Programme for students in the Grades Three to Seven. This programme will be designed to challenge the students who meet the criteria in the following areas:
1. Language
2. Mathematics
3. Science and History
Running on a term based schedule, the year will be divided into three basic areas in which the students will research, experiment, write and design under each of the above headings.
This program would be for students who are in Grades 3-7 who meet the following criteria:
A psych educational assessment has been completed and submitted to Somerset Administration. This assessment must state that the child is in the 90th percentile or scored off the chart.
The student must submit a one page writing piece/sample telling us about his/her favourite book.
The student will go through a brief interview with Somerset Administration along with their parents.
The student will demonstrate commitment and enthusiasm for being a part of the Gifted programme at Somerset Academy.
The students who join the “Gifted Programme” will also be required to complete their current Grade level classes, as well and maintain an overall “A” average in all core subject areas. Thanks again for your support and dedication to Somerset Academy.
