Students raise $5,700 for Terry Fox Foundation

Kendellhurst Academy students from our Streetsville grade school and Oakville campus worked very hard to raise funds for cancer research last month.  Through canvassing, online fundraising pages and families our students raised a total of $5,700.  Kindergarten students completed their run indoors due to weather and our grade students ran as much as 2km for the fundraiser.  The event is a great opportunity to combine social responsibility with fitness for the students.  A special mention goes to grade 7 student Trinity for raising the most money at $400.00 and also to SK student David for raising $320.

Social responsibility is an important component of education at Kendellhurst.  Students are involved in numerous events throughout the academic year including; helping to raise funds for charity, learning about and donating food and helping the environment through community tree planting.
