Global Leadership Boarding Entrance Scholarship (Academic)

Eligibility Details:

Graduates of the Pickering College Global Leadership Program are agents of courageous, ethical and positive change, true to Quaker values.

The Global Leadership Boarding Entrance Scholarship is one of the most prestigious scholarships at Pickering College.  This scholarship recognizes the potential of a student entering Grade 9 as a significant contributor to the school and to the Global Leadership Program.

The student will serve as the representative of their country, sharing with the Pickering College community information about their culture and bringing their international perspective to the school.  

The Global Leadership Boarding Entrance Scholarship is renewable each year (25,000 Canadian pr year, renewable) provided the student maintains a high academic standing, participates in school and boarding life and makes a positive contribution to the school.  It is an expectation that all families make some contribution to the cost of attending Pickering College.

Application Details:

To be eligible for this merit-based scholarship, interested students must meet the following requirements:

  • complete application for Pickering College
  • Achieve high academic standing in their previous two years of schooling.  In most cases students should have an overall average in excess of 85% or letter grade of A- or higher
  • in addition to academic achievement, the student will have accomplishments such as:
    • Leadership in community service
    • Achievement in arts or sports
    • Excellence in other areas of individual endeavour which demonstrate the wholeness of the person and grace of character
    • Engagement in innovative and entrepreneurial activities
  • Demonstrate leadership within their current school community
  • Submit a minimum of one, and a maximum of three, non-academic letters of reference
  • Submit a reflective piece on "How you can make a difference in the lives of others by being an agent of courageous, ethical and positive change in the world."
