Highlights from the interview

  • We really wanted a school that offered a high level of excellence coupled with tradition and culture. When we first visited the school, we were impressed with the camaraderie amongst the staff. The grounds were immaculate. We loved that there was an emphasis on education as much as there was on sport. Overall, we were truly impressed and felt it was a welcoming experience from the very first day. Our children have been part of the school for over six years now, and we continue to feel welcome every single day.

  • One of the most important factors that Ridley has contributed to the growth of our children is independence. We've seen such a positive experience with both of them, which has created an abundance of strength and confidence. The school focuses on helping children flourish in whatever they excel at, whether that’s academic, athletic, or otherwise. That connection is felt both at school and at home, and it has always been a positive experience.

  • Leadership is another area where Ridley has really made an impact. I love seeing our children take on new roles of leadership. They really step outside their comfort zones, and the school encourages them to challenge themselves. It’s incredible to see them become more confident in different aspects of life beyond school. Their maturity levels continue to increase every year, and I love how they interact with people across the globe. They both really enjoy the school.

  • I remember our daughter started in Junior Kindergarten, and at the time, she was a very quiet individual, intimidated even during preschool. But as the year went on, the teachers and the organization really helped her come out of her shell. It was such a positive experience to see that transformation, to see her become who she really is.

  • Both of our children appreciate the open-ended opportunities provided to them. Whether it’s trying different sports, engaging in different languages, or exploring various leadership roles—like reading at chapel or participating in year-end celebrations—they are engaged and appreciative. These opportunities, offered at every grade level, have helped them grow into better students and, more importantly, better human beings.

  • It’s not just about attending Ridley; it’s about being a part of the school and its day-to-day life. It’s exciting to see the opportunities our children are given to speak, present, and lead. At every stage of their education, these experiences have been invaluable.

  • As parents, what we appreciate most is the culture, the camaraderie, and the genuine care and love that the teachers demonstrate daily. Other parents are also deeply invested in the school—it truly feels like a community that influences all the children. We’ve been in touch with our children’s teachers numerous times, and the relationships we’ve formed with many of them are almost at the level of friendship. We’re truly appreciative of the family-like environment that has been created at Ridley.

  • Whether you’re a first-time parent or have several children at the school, you feel welcome and part of one large community. We were a bit intimidated at first, but we absolutely love the school and are grateful for the hard work that goes into it—from the top leadership all the way through. The children are incredibly fortunate for the opportunities Ridley provides.

  • One thing that really surprised and impressed us was the interaction between the Upper School and the Lower School. The relationships between older and younger students were strong regardless of age, gender, or ethnicity. As parents, that gave us a clear sense of something to look forward to—watching our children grow up in this leadership-focused environment.

  • It’s important for children to have role models. Seeing Upper School students excelling in their roles provides hope and motivation for younger children to do their best. Leaders create future leaders, and our children, being in the Lower School, are under great influence. We look forward to the future and what they will create, inspire, and explore.

  • Ridley truly provides the tools children need to discover what they love most and to excel. Whether it’s after-school activities or daily school programs, the school gives them the resources to flourish. We’ve witnessed this progress firsthand and are excited to see how these children will continue to succeed.

  • The family culture at Ridley is truly amazing. Our children have made great friends, but as parents, we’ve also met incredible people. If we’re ever in a bind, we know we can rely on other parents—and they’ve been there for us, just as we’ve been there for them. The Family Guild is a big part of this, bringing families together through shared activities and creating a fun, welcoming environment.

  • We have two children at the school. Our oldest just graduated from Grade 6 and was incredibly proud to receive the Mentone Cup. That award represents what it means to be a true Ridley student—academically, athletically, and as a model member of the community. He worked hard for it, and we were proud and excited to see him recognized in that way.

  • Our experience with the teachers and administration has been exceptional. Any time we needed to reach out, we received a response within 20 or 30 minutes. In some cases, we’ve even texted directly with teachers. Whether it’s about grades, late pickups, or scraped knees, the communication has been immediate and positive. Even receiving a quick message from a teacher about a presentation or sporting event has brightened our day.

  • There are three reasons we would recommend Ridley to other families. First is the culture and tradition—the day-to-day care and love from teachers that filters down to the students. Second is the school’s commitment to excellence in both education and sport. And third are the daily opportunities available to students. They are surrounded by like-minded, motivated peers who push each other to be their best, and that’s a true recipe for success.

  • If you’re looking for the right school, we strongly recommend reaching out to Ridley and booking a tour. From our very first interview, we were immersed in Ridley’s culture. The admissions process was excellent, and all our questions were answered promptly. Touring the campus, seeing the facilities, and observing the classrooms—it was all such an amazing experience. We also recommend speaking with other parents. Our friends who had children at Ridley spoke very highly of the school, and after our visit, we knew we were making the right decision.
