The admissions process is very much focused on making sure the school is right for your daughter. The school isn't just about enrollment numbers, rather, you embark on an admissions journey that is tailored and individual to your family needs. The school takes a great deal of time to encourage prospective students (and parents!) to experience the school, and build familiarity with it. We found the process to be exactly what was advertised, and completely in line with the values of the school. It's no wonder that the student body loves the school as much as they do!
The application process was not stressful, and the Admissions staff are very friendly and helpful. They want this to be as smooth for you as possible.
When I first attended SMS I was extremely young at the time, approximately four years old. I do not have any recollection of the application process, but little did I know that my first day of Junior Kindergarten would be the beginning of my journey, on developing into the confident young girl, I had always aspired to be. Back when my parents were considering enrolling me at St. Margaret’s School, they had a Student Ambassador tour them around, both were impressed and from their perspective the application process was rather straightforward.
My daughter produced a portfolio for admissions. She attended a shadow day and spent some one-on-one time with staff (I assume this was testing although she didn't feel tested.) As my daughter chose to apply for Grade 10 she orchestrated the admissions process and I didn't participate much. My over all sense is that the staff wanted to get to know her so they could support her well.
