What Country Day School says about their university placement record and services:

  • In what continues to be an example of the balance we strive for here at CDS, our Class of 2026 graduates are pursuing a broad range of disciplines. Broken into three major academic categories, this years GYs are leaning heavily toward the Sciences. Over half of the grad class is pursuing Life and Physical Sciences, including Engineering. The remaining half is split evenly between Commerce and Humanities/Social Science, with the Performing Arts also represented. Some unique and interesting disciplines include: Integrated Biomedical Engineering & Health Sciences, Classical Vocal Music, Mechatronics Engineering, Medicine and Surgery, Nursing, Cognitive Science & AI, with multiple students pursuing Commerce at Smith, Rotman & Ivey. For the first time in CDS history, the University of Guelph has emerged as the top institution with 15 attendees. It is no surprise, given the extremely positive feedback we receive each year after the Guelph campus visit as part of the GY West University trip. Perennial favourites Western and Queens are close behind with 14 commitments each. We are once again represented from coast to coast in Canada, with students enrolling at Dalhousie, McGill, UBC Vancouver and UBC Okanagan. Five intrepid graduates are heading overseas, with two studying in England at the University of Lancashire and the University of Manchester, respectively. Ireland is represented by the Royal College of Surgeons and, new this year, Rak Medical Health and Science University in the UAE, and Sophia University in Tokyo joining the impressive list of destinations. South of the border increased in popularity again this year, with 10 students accepting offers in the U.S. The full list includes Yale University, Boston College, New York University, Arizona State, University of Southern California, University of Connecticut, University of California-Davis and Penn State University.
