On Class Day, June 8, 2015, SEM inducted seven girls into the national Cum Laude Society: Seniors Claire Conrad, Julia Douglas, Danielle Dolan, Jennifer O’Donnell, Jane Gold, Hannah Porter and Alexis Wright. The Cum Laude Society recognizes academic achievement for the purpose of promoting excellence, justice, and honor. A school's chapter may elect up to 20% of its senior class. These girls join the seven other seniors inducted in December 2014.
Also on Class Day, membership pins were awarded to our National Honor Society inductees: Juniors TojumiOluwa Adegboyega, Lena Beyer, Madison Chamberlain, Anabel Cornacchio, Anna Fretz, Milan Gacioch, Maia Gallagher, Abigail Hopkins, Kaitlin Hughes, Kendyl Kratzer, Danielle Little, Yicen (Jessica) Liu, Erin Melber, Alexia Pezzino, Bessie Shiroki and Sara Smolarek.
Class Day is an annual tradition just before commencement that awards student achievement in the arts and sciences and recognizes girls with leadership qualities and exemplary character. Students also receive awards on Student Recognition Day, those can be found here.
