During the week of May 16-20, GAA hosted our annual Showcasing the Arts Week. Students had the opportunity to share and showcase their unique artistic and musical talents to their peers, teachers and parents. Students gathered at opening to watch and support their peers in their unique performances that they worked hard on practicing.
Students showcased singing, dancing, martial art, piano, drum and musical talents. They planned and practiced their performances in groups and individually leading up to the event. Teachers assisted students in planning and preparing for their performances, as well as time spent out of school dedicated to these important hobbies and talents! The crowd was electrified by an amazing drum performance and drum off between a teacher and student drummer! Groups of grade 1/2 girls did an excellent job singing along to pop songs. One student showcased his martial art talent and even recruited a surprised audience member to display his talents! Students practiced and played beautiful piano solos and duos which filled the gymansium with wonderful sounds enjoyed by all. A great week was had by all GAA members!
