The vibe among the kids at LDVA is a key indicator of the overall fabric of the school. Because it’s a smaller, close-knit student body, it doesn't feel like a big, anonymous institution; it feels more like a big extended fa...

Looking back at the application process, what stood out to me most was how much it felt like a mutual conversation rather than a cold, high-pressure assessment. Applying to schools is naturally a stressful time for parents—y...

At the time, I thought administration was tough, but I now understand that to run a school effectively, policies and procedures must be in place. I have heard that recently there is a new administration, and I was delighted to...
Mrs. Lobo was incredible, so caring and knowledgeable. I was challenged daily, lessons were presented clearly and follow-up work with choices made for growing independence.
Combining the Montessori Method with traditional learning is a significant strength. Everyone learns differently, and LDVA encourages this. What I learned in grade 2, I later did in grade 7! I was so prepared.
Mr.Jewell put together an amazing sports program. We didn't play a lot of other schools, but that was ok for me since I did my own sports outside of school.
There were students at varying learning stages. Kindness and inclusivity were very much present. There were many Italian families, but not everyone; it was a great mix!
I really enjoyed going every day, and so did the other students. The teachers planned so many special events and even just made day-to-day learning fun with experiments and challenges
I believe the school has moved to a new location with brand new outdoor and indoor facilities. I loved the previous space and community. I can't speak much to the new location. But I do know the majority of teachers remained....
I was a little nervous, but mostly excited. I immediately felt welcomed to the school. I was able to visit the school ahead of time, also.
The care all teachers took with every student. The great intramural sports and outstanding languages (French and Italian - I currently have 100% in high school French).
I did not realize just how much small class sizes benefit learning and understanding. Being able to have teachers know what I needed when I was at an early stage of learning played a huge part in my academic success.
